C'villians praying to God
Isn’t that scene beautiful? So Islamic Society of Central Virginia had a picnic on Saturday at Pen Park. Here is a video. The sound track is by the Brit revert Hamza Robertson titled “Your Beauty”.

It was a mini United Nations with people of all backgrounds. We had beef burgers, chicken tikka, rice, pasta, salad, firnee and all other yummies. The grilled food was provided by the newest Afghani Halal restaurant in town, Kabob Palace. Here is a review of the place by The Hook plus some interesting comments. The owner was previously running the other Afghani restaurant Ariana with a partner but they split up which is perhaps good for us since now we will have two Halal restaurants in C’ville. Everyone brought a side or dessert.
It was fun. We met a lot of our friends. It seems for the past few months, our family is dissociated from everything in C’ville. Because of Abbu’s illness, we are existing in a parallel world not paying attention to our friendships and what is going around us. Another good news was that a family friend who is a neurosurgeon and who had left for India last year may come back to USA. We have come back twice to C’ville. Lets see what the future holds for us.
